Services & Cabling
On Monday 15th December, Geoff banks (Project Director), Barnaby Coxon (Programme Director), Chris Hentschel (AV) and Scott Marshal (IT) did the first of what will be many walkthroughs of the construction site. With the steel framing largely complete, and most rooms now defined, work has begun on the electrical and data cabling throughout the building.
Our approach to the cabling infrastructure is intentionally forward-looking. By installing comprehensive power, data and AV cabling now, we reduce the need for future wall modifications and disruption later. This is a key part of making the building fit for long-term ministry use - from reliable technology usage across the building, to flexible spaces for kids, youth and mid-week gatherings.
While detailed planning happens on paper (and is incredibly important) walking the space is critical. These walkthroughs ensure what has been designed will actually function well in practice. This first visit identified only a small number of minor additions, confirming that the planning to date has been sound.
We’re encouraged by how things are progressing, and grateful for the care being taken at each step.
