As we settle into the new year of 2025, significant progress has been made on the site of Latimer Church’s future home. Regular Project Control Group meetings are taking place each month to review the project’s status, receive updates on milestones, and address any items needing clarification. With the demolition completed in late 2024, heavy machinery has been preparing the site, and the large screw piles are now being driven into the ground by the piling rigs.
We recently had Thomas Coker come out onto the site with his drone to capture some amazing footage of the works going on. We will endeavor to periodically capture progress in this way to keep the congregation updated. You can see the most recent video here:
At our recent Unite service, we updated the congregation on fundraising progress. Praise God that we are 93% of the way towards our goal of $16.3m, with only $1.1m to go! If you would still like to donate towards the project, please click here.

Here are some key milestones achieved so far:
- Demolition: All existing buildings have been demolished, and asbestos and contaminated soils have been safely removed.
- Hall Preparation: Work has begun on preparing the existing hall, which is being retained, including the removal of all paneling and bracing of the structure.
- Grid Set-Out: The grid set-out is in place, ready for the piling rig to begin work.
- Environmental Report: We’ve received an environmental report.
- Site Inspection: The first building site inspection has been successfully completed.
Looking ahead, key activities scheduled for the next month include:
- Water Supply and Power: Installation of the water supply and temporary builder’s power.
- Building Platform and Piling: Completion of the building platform, with the piling rig arriving onsite.
- Design Review: Colors and finishings packages will be sent to the church for review and approval.
- Tree trimming: Trimming of trees around the site to ensure unhindered access for heavy vehicles.
