The detailed design phase is getting well under way with the design team of architect, project staff and consultants working through various components of detail within the building. Currently much of the focus is on the auditorium, balancing all of the pieces together including mechanical systems (airflow), acoustics and visuals, lighting and windows to name a few. At the bottom of this update is an image of the current iteration of the south facing windows which is a finned system, not only does this provide diffused light into the auditorium and the ability to black out if need be, but it also provides a mechanism to stay within the acoustic bleed confines set out by the resource consent.
We also recently launched our final fundraising campaign for the Latimer Church community. This is a $2 million campaign to get the project over the line and provide the board with assurance that they can enter the tendering phase with the completed project budget of $13 million.
